In 1946 they moved to Muskogee and then to Norman in 1956. When her two children were older she resumed her teaching career in language arts with the Norman Public Schools (Central Junior High and Whitter Middle School) retiring in 1973.

Louise was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Norman and also the Douglas Bible Study Club. In retirement she volunteered at the church's Family Life Center and at the Cleveland County Red Cross. Louise enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and visiting and traveling with former teacher acquaintances and close family friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband in October 1980.

Their efforts enabled Louise to remain at home until her passing.

Louise will be remembered for her faith, devotion to family, kindness to others, and inner strength to meet life's challenges.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First Baptist Church Family Life Center or the Cleveland County Red Cross.
