Clyde Olson, 88, Hunter, ND died on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Center, Arthur, ND. Clyde Lowell Olson was born Feb. 12, 1927 at Hillsboro, ND to Ted and Helen (Fleischer) Olson. He grew up in Bohnsack Township near Hillsboro and attended country school. The family moved to a farm near Prosper, ND and he continued his schooling in Mapleton, ND. He then worked on area farms. Clyde married Jeanne Holtse on March 4, 1948 in Moorhead, MN. They made their home in the Hunter area where he farmed until 1979. He then worked at Hunter Grain for 10 years until semi retiring at which time he worked various jobs. Clyde enjoyed time with his family and especially when the grandchildren came to visit. He could often be found gardening, bowling, fishing at South Twin Lake and taking the occasional trip to the casino. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; four children, Karen (Ken) Wilhelm, Fargo, ND, Rebecca (Keith) Brandt, Enderlin, ND, Laurie (Mike) Campbell, Castle Rock, CO and Gary Olson, Hunter; 10 grandchildren, Sara (Kaz Otomo) Wilhelm, Michael (Azadeh) Wilhelm, David Wilhelm, William (Amanda) Brandt, Ted Brandt, Andrew Campbell, Abbey Campbell, Kristina (Kasey) Kyllo, Ben (Ashley) Olson and Brittany (Beau Sorenson) Olson; 5 great grandchildren, Haruki and Fumiki Otomo, Hudson and Charlotte Brandt and Addison Kyllo. Clyde was preceded in death by parents and four brothers, Ralph, Orville, Melvin and Vernon. Visitation: Friday, Sept. 4, 2015 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND. Funeral: Saturday at 11 AM at West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo with visitation one hour prior and reception to follow. Burial: Hunter Cemetery.
