Connie Jean Culbreth, 47, of Fairforest, died Monday, June 30, 2008. Born September 29, 1960, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of Connie Mack Culbreth of Fairforest and the late Nancy Jean Crosby Culbreth. A graduate of the College of Charleston, she received a Masters in Education from Converse College and was a former physical education coach and teacher at Boiling Springs, Spartanburg School District 2. An avid sports fan, Connie was an outstanding high school and collegiate athlete, setting girls basketball records at Dorman High School. She was an All-American softball player in Spartanburg County. She was also Honorary Mention All-American basketball player at the College of Charleston. She was a member of Fairforest Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to her father are two brothers, Neil Culbreth and his wife Debbie of Boiling Springs, and Michael Culbreth and his wife Martha of Inman; a nephew, Capt. Chad Hyder and his wife Kiresty of Heidelberg, Germany; two great-nephews, Gavin and Grayson Hyder; and her beloved dog, �Brandy�. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Fairforest Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Joe Dempsey. The family will receive friends following the service in the Church Sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairforest Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O.
