Not sure what to say?

I knew Cris when I was friends with his daughter when I was younger. Even though I have lost touch with her a long time ago I am still very saddened to hear of this news. I have many wonderful memories of Amy and her family, and my deepest sympathies go out to them.

I met Cris through his son Nick. Exposing me to science and nature he helped shape my life as I recently graduated with a degree in biology. One of my fondest memories as a child was of a trip to the sand dunes in Spring Green WI to look for box turtles and snakes. Your love of the natural world will continue forever!

My thoughts and prayers are with the Leibner family. Cris was a wonderful person, with the kindest of hearts.

I met Cris for the first time, when Miriam was only a few months old, at the Borders Bookstore in Madison. He took loving care of his grand-daughter, while Louisa and I went over the final grades of her first-year Portuguese students. I remember how proud and happy he looked, parading little Miriam around the bookstore, and how peaceful she looked in the sheltering arms of her grand-father. I saw Cris again at the Portuguese play last May, when he had come to see his daughter's triumphant...

You have our deepest sympathies.

Cris and I grew up together near Potters Lake in Walworth Co. We went from kindergarten through college together. We both met our wives through the Canoe & Outdoor Club at UW- Whitewater. Cris is the finest man I have ever known. His love of nature were evident even as a small boy, and it carried on his entire life on earth. Now he has gone to tend that perfect heavenly garden, but he has left a huge legacy here through his wife, children, relatives and friends. This planet will miss him.

Cris was a special individual and a good friend. I attended ETHS and graduated with him and last saw him at our reunion in 2007. He was a great person, always taking time to visit and talk. He will be dearly missed by all and may God be with the entire family. My prayers and sympathy are with each of you and May God Bless.
