Dear Bev and girls, Dan was a remarkable gentleman. He contributed greatly to both his University community and Blacksburg. His dedication and attention to so many aspects of life will be remembered and missed. He had a positive impact on so many peoples lives and that legacy lives on.

Bev and family, my wife and I are spending the holidays in New York and learned of Dan's passing from a friend in Roanoke who was aware of my friendship with you and Dan. It was a shock to me as I had so many visits with you all in Blacksburg and in Fairfax County. My condolences to you and the girls. Love, Rodney Taylor

Beth and the Fleming Family, my thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your many memories bring you comfort.

Dan was a remarkable gentleman who's leadership was known throughout Virginia. He contributed immensely to the work of AARP and made a lasting mark by improving the experience of aging for all. He will be deeply missed by the staff of AARP and the many AARP friends he created across the state.

Susie, What a lovely obituary for an accomplished man and cherished husband and father. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Dear Beverly and family, Jim and I are so sorry to learn of Dan's passing. We remember both of you fondly for welcoming us to Blacksburg as part of the VT family. We also remember Dan as a fine gentleman and gentle man and felt privileged to kmow him.
