Not sure what to say?

I was actually laughing about Dan the other day, remembering when he told me to call him Dan and then never answered me until I called him Mr. Welch! I may have talked out loud to him for a bit after my laughter died down.....I miss him.

I WOKE UP I THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT ... REMEMBERING ONE OF THE GREATEST LESSONS I HAD LEARNED IN SCHOOL BY DAN WELCH WHO SAID " PEOPLE ARE COMPLICATED " AND WENT TO THE SCHOOL CHALKBOARD AND WROTE IT OUT FOR EMPHASIS AND REFLECTION " PEOPLE ARE COMPLICATED " HE WAS AN ENGLISH TEACHER WHO LOVED LITERATURE AND I COULD IMAGINE HIM FROM THE PERIOD OF HEIGHTENED ENGLISH AS A CIVIL WAR TROOP , HE WAS USUALLY VERY PLEASANT BUT WHEN HE SUDDENLY SHIFTED TO TEACHING THE...

A wonderful man, who saw the good in everyone. So kind and thoughtful. He will be missed by many. Ging-er/Jen Booge Gemberling

Dan was a brilliant teacher. I remember working outside his classroom at Tatnall, while he was lecturing. I was spellbound. I can't even remember now whether I finished whatever I was doing. Those whom he taught and coached were truly fortunate.

I am so very sorry to hear of Dan's passing. He was a special person. He will be sorely missed. I always enjoyed his company at church.

I'm honored to have known Dan. I performed alongside him often, and enjoyed his talent and wisdom. A friendly smile, an ability to lead, a sense of compassionate giving. The world is improved by his contributions, and he is missed.

Rest in peace. A wonderful and patient teacher I remember fondly from the early 80's. Condolences to his family.

I am soooo saddened by this news and this great loss. Dan Welch was a phenomenal teacher, mentor and friend who will be sorely missed in my world. I will always have lasting and fond memories of BME classes, "Man the Mythmaker" 45 page reports (yes, even that made a fond memory!), and directing shows with a teacher who eventually made me call him "Dan" and then never answered when I did!! Carol, my love is with you.....
