Dannie Edward May, 68, of Pinsonfork, KY, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019, at the Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born January 1, 1951, at McAndrews, KY, the son of the late Chester and Annie Stump May. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosemary May.
He was a retired coal miner, member of the United Mine Workers of America, Local Union 5737 and the Octavia Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his children, Dannie "Dano" Edward (Lindsay) May of Lexington, KY, and Jessica Ruth May of Williamson, WV; four siblings, Kathy May of Belfry, KY, Donnie May of McDowell, KY, Judith Francis of North Carolina and Kenneth (Martha) May of Panama City Beach, FL; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn Rose May and Kenleigh Brook McLaughlin; a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM on Sunday, August 25th and Monday, August 26th at the Octavia Freewill Baptist Church. Special services will be held Monday night at 7 PM. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at the church with Dwayne Yates and J. R. Whitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Online condolences at www.rerogersfh.com. R. E.
