Wilson Funeral Homes - Osceola Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Danny Ray Foster. Danny was born on July 23, 1950 in Dyess, AR and passed on July 5, 2025 at his home in Dyess just before his 75th birthday. Danny was a devoted husband, a dedicated father to four wonderful children and three bonus children. He was a proud grandfather as well as a great grandfather. He was a mentor, advisor, best friend and protector to his four siblings. He loved most, spending time with family. Danny enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and those memorable days at deer camp. He was a Godly man who spread friendship and goodwill to all he met. Danny graduated from Dyess High School in 1968 and soon thereafter served a tour in the Vietnam War. He was a proud patriot who served bravely and honorably. He sure did love Donald Trump and a good bargain. After returning home, Danny worked largely in the industrial industry as a maintenance man/supervisor. Throughout his life he worked tirelessly and was a true jack of all trades and a master of many! He was always willing and available to lend a hand to anyone in need. He possessed a vast wealth of knowledge in many areas and bestowed his wisdom to many during his walk in this life. I'm sure if there were any needed repairs in Heaven he's taking care of that right now. After years of serving in various capacities as a skilled maintenance worker, Danny was given an opportunity and earned his associates degree in Industrial Maintenance at Arkansas Northeastern College. He retired in 2015 and lived out the remainder of his days enjoying time with his beloved wife and family gardening, fishing and hunting. Danny is preceded in death by his father Dallas Ray Foster and mother Imogene Wilma Foster of Dyess, AR. He is survived by his loving wife Virda of 23 years, his children Crystal (Michael) May and Patricia (Art) Cowder of Manila, Dallas Foster of Osceola and Jessica Foster of Dyess, Tonya (Bryan) Taylor of Mulberry, Robert (Sherry Beth) Taylor of Trumann and Laurie (Mark) Walls of Alma, his siblings, Ronnie (Linda) Foster and Linda (David) Williams of Manila, Ricky (Sandra) Foster of Hardy and Michael (Kari) Foster of Batesville, a host of beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as a multitude of other family members and friends. Visitation is Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 6-8 PM at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral will be Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 1 PM at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Burial will be at Bassett Cemetery in Bassett with Rev. Joe Wheeler and Rev. Anthony Patterson officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola, AR is in charge of the services.

I was so sorry to hear about Danny's passing. He was such a good man. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. He will be missed!

I never missed an opportunity to talk with Danny when I lived in town, and when i moved away I always made sure to visit when I was down. I have many memories if conversations with Danny. I’ll always cherish those and the deer we would skin, or fish cleaned after me and Jeremy had been out in the woods. I always looked up to Danny and considered him a dear friend. I sure loved talking about President Trump with him!

So sorry to hear of the passing of Danny, he was not only a classmate , but I'm proud to call him a friend. Praying for the family, may you all receive healing to get thru this sad time.

We will miss our dear friend Danny. His obituary described him to a T. Over the years we spent a lot of time visiting with him and Verda and they both had a great sense of humor. Our prayers go out to the family and just know that he will always be with you.
