Not sure what to say?

Dave was a fine Gentlemen who encouraged me early in my career in Ithaca as a Radio Broadcaster having moved here from Michigan. His wife Joy and Dave are two of the most gracious people I have been blessed to know, and Dave certainly is the toughest, kindest, most successful Ithacan to grace our community in many a decade.

I was away when Dave passed and am just now learning that he's no longer with us in our community. I think of Dave often and will continue to do so, as his...

My sincere sympathies to the Barr family. Dave was a wonderful man and friend who I enjoyed many hours with on the softball fields and the basketball court. His sincerity and sense of humor are traits that I will always remember. God speed Dave!

Also a member, following in his father's footsteps, of Tornado Hook & Ladder Company #3, Ithaca, NY. He, his dad, and Mr. Button taught me the words to "The Fireman's Band" a nonsensical song of firefighting camaraderie when I was a young Bunker in # 3s room in the early 1970. We would sing a chorus whenever our paths crossed. Trust he and the other #3s members are tuning up now inside the Pearly Gates. A Good Thought for a Good Man & Family.

Joy and family,
Please know that David touched so many people in Ithaca throughout the years in such a positive way. He will surety be missed. Our condolences to you all.

Joy, just learned from my brother Dr. Ron Minor of the Cornell Vet School of Dave's passing. Bev and I are sorry for your loss.

At the same time reading his obituary brought back so many fond memories of our eight years in Ithaca during the 1960's. What great fun we had playing slow pitch at Stewart Park twice a week during the summer season. And we had a pretty good team, too.

We would never have guessed his age as Dave was always so full of life and so enjoyable to be and...

I first met your Dad at the Commons Market while walking the beat in 1980. I knew right away he was a classy and dignified person. I was yes sir, no sir and being truly respectful. I learned early on you certainly knew where he stood! In my opinion, you have many of your father's traits. I recall conversations at the Market with your Dad regarding the activity behind his business... the Dugout being next door. Rather animated. Patti and I wish to express our sympathy to you, Shara and...

Dear Joy,

Will miss you good friend......
