A personal note will follow, when I find the words. I cannot imagine how many friends Mr Burrows enjoyed.

I remember Mr. Burrows from my youth as a member of South Roanoke United Methodist Church. He was a kind gentleman whose regular presence and contributions of time, leadership and support to the church benefited so many. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this sad time.

Though David Burrows was known to me by his reputation as an outstanding contractor and business leader, I rarely had opportunity to see him in person. The influence for good he exerted through his life of service to God, his family, and our country was evident when daughter Beverly, her husband Bob Burleson and their children moved from Virginia to Tallahassee after Bob was persuaded to became President of the Florida Transportation Builders Association. I am grateful for the privilege of knowing Mr. David Borrows. I first met him at the time of the untimely death of his son David. Through his son's wonderful family – Betty and Jennifer and David III - I had opportunities to meet with him on several occasions. I found him to be a very loving husband, father and grandfather.
