How awful, I had no idea! Just tried to find David and heard about his death! Very sad, Think about David every time i drive by the ice cream shop he worked at while in high school. Such a lovely guy, so glad he became so accomplished. Condolences to David's family.

Looking up friends from the past, this is my one greatest fear. I wish I had found Dave sooner. It would have been great to catch up and see that wonderful big smile, laugh and joke like we used to in our youth. Some long lost friends are very hard to track down. Every year or so I would search online for my friend David Butterfield. I was hoping for a chance to say 'hi' and now I only wish that I had a chance to say goodbye. You are missed.

I met Dave when I started Highschool at Monterey High. Dave was one of the nicest persons I knew and we became fast friends. One day Dave and I were going into town and he suggested we ride his bikes, they were 10 speeds and he loaned me one with foot holders. Im not exactly sure what they were called but hold your feet they did! We came up to a stop sign and I "attempted" to pull my foot out. NOPE. Over I went. LOL. To the friends and family of Dave. I didn't know him for long, only the times he came to swim at LA Fitness in Beavercreek, OH. He was always the warmest, friendliest person to talk to. I enjoyed the time we were friends when we swam together. He will be missed.

To the family and friends of David: I hope your sorrow will someday be replaced by the wonderful memories of what David was able to accomplish during his time here on earth. He was a great man of many talents.
