A dear and loved cousin that will be missed. It has been too long since the families got together and now maybe next year but minus one though you will be with us in spirit and not forgotten. Love you cuz

Steve, Joanne, Donald and family,
I was so sorry to hear of your loss. We grew up in a great part of Hastings with the best neighbors there were. And you guys were a big part of that. My family was so sorry to hear of your loss and our heart goes out to you. Reading these entries I see David grew up to be just a wonderful man as he was a kid. I remember him always being a happy fun guy and very friendly and it seemed to transfer into adulthood. May God guide you through this...

Dave was such an amazing person. I am so blessed to have known him since we both were young. I have so many great memories. He truely was one of a kind. I will always miss you. My condolences to the entire Cushing family

Mr. Cushing was an excellent teacher and coach. His enthusiasm in the field of science and in life have been a great influence. May he rest in peace. I was a 7th grader in his first year at Cedar Hollow 10 years ago, and his class was always something I think we all looked forward to.

Mr. Cushing was our grandaughter Kaitie Warner's favorite teacher. She loved science and excelled in it thanks to his great teaching. Kaitie's grandfather is a retired 7th grade science teacher so he always asked what she was studying in science and was always impressed with the answers. I know Kaitie along with all her fellow students will miss him dearly. Few teachers touch their students as deeply as Mr. Cushing and that's a wonderful legacy.

Mr. C you made it so both my brother and I loved science. You were such a great person, I always know if I was having a bad day I could go to your classroom and you would find away to make me laugh. I also know if I ever need help in a class you I could count on you to aleast try and help me. I will really miss seeing you when I go to Cedar Hollow to visit. You definitely touch my life you will always be in my heart. I hope you know how many students and other people you meant the world to....

You were the light in many peoples lives. You brought forth their creative energy and with that, your students were able to expand their education and emotional well being. Your brought a smile to our faces when we were sad. Your candle of light will never burn out, because here on earth...your lite will still create memories that can't be replace by anyone. We know that Jesus called you home to help with those in Heaven, that needed your way of teaching those that need you. We will see you...
