David Guevara, 59, passed unexpectedly on Nov. 5 in Sunnyvale, CA. David was born in 1959 to Amado and Antonia Guevara, the eldest with six brothers and one sister, and lived all of his adult life in Sunnyvale.

David is remembered as a loving brother, uncle and friend. He was a generous, good and kind person who always took care of his family. His brothers are grateful for the stability and foundation he helped provide as they grew up and which continued throughout their lives.

After graduating from Cal State Hayward David pursued his interest in computers as a Systems Administrator, highlighted by a long career at NASA. David's family felt his devotion and love through the many gifts and cards he sent which made us feel never forgotten. David also acted as a family Computer Professional and was always available to solve obscure computer issues, answer questions and offer advice. We are also grateful for Davids willingness to act as an enabler to his fathers love of gambling. Retelling stories of the many gambling trips to Lake Tahoe with his father and brothers will forever bring laughter to our family gatherings.

David is survived his siblings Francis (Lorraine), James, Andrew (Michele), Philip, Matt (Wei) and Amanda and his nieces and nephews Lauren, Kate, Mark, Amber and Anthony Jacob (AJ) and his step-mother, Michelle. He was preceded in death by his mother Antonia, father, Amado, and brother, William.

Not sure what to say?

I stumbled upon this sad news tonight as I was reminiscing about people that I knew in the past. I was a newly hired NASA engineer in 1982 and Dave and I immediately bonded after we met in the FSD branch where he was the local computer guru.

I remember him ordering steak so raw that he told the waiter that "I want to chase the cow around the plate" and eating jalapenos as my eyes watered.

To Dave's family - he was a great guy and I was happy that he was my friend during...

At work, when Dave laughed - You could hear him all the way down the hall.

I am deeply sorry for your loss.

Going to miss you David. You were always there for me and the family and I really appreciated that. You were a generous, sometimes grumpy, smart, kind, loyal, and supportive brother that will be missed. You went too soon....but I'm lucky you were in my/our lives. Love you and miss you.

This is so sad for us. I have very good memories of David, however brief. I wish we had more time together.

Rest in Peace

Rest in peace David.

They broke the mold when they made Dave. The likes of him will never be seen again. My love to family and friends who remember him like I do.

I’d like to report something on this page.
