David M. Hake, 73, Leawood, KS, passed away September 12, 2004, at St. Joseph Health Center. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2004, at Cure of Ars Catholic Church, 9401 Mission Road, Leawood, KS. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2004, where the rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Cure of Ars Church or to the Sisters of St. Frances LaVerne Heights, Savannah, MO 64485. Dave was born February 16, 1931, in Bates Co., MO, to Herman and Clara (Kaumans) Hake. Dave served with the United States Marines in Camp Pendleton, CA. He graduated from Rockhurst College and for several years worked in the Insurance business. Dave later started Victorian Marble Co., which helped pioneer the marble top business in the Midwest. In 1977, he founded Hake and Hake, Inc., an independent manufacturers representative business that serves the kitchen and bath industry. Dave retired in 1997. He was a member of Cure of Ars church and a past member of the Kansas City Breakfast club. Dave was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Arthur Hake. Dave and his wife, Lorraine, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 28th. Lorraine survives him of the home. Dave is also survived by four children, Mark Hake and his wife, Vicki, of Prairie Village, KS, Anne Westphal, Richardson, TX, Julianne Henshaw and her husband, Jeff, Leawood, KS, and Matt Hake, Prairie Village, KS; eight grandchildren, Christina, Mike, Rob, Nick, Jaclyn, Hake, Abigail and Amanda. Dave is also survived by two brothers, Harold Hake, North Kansas City, MO, and Jerome Hake, Conway, SC; and a sister, Maryan Jones, Houston, TX. (Arrangements: Muehlebach Funeral Home, 816-444-2060)
