David Allen Hollingsworth

I was a student of Mr. Hollingsworth from Caldwell Parish High, class of 87. God bless him.

I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Hollingsworth. He taught my daughter at Silver Sand Middle School. He will be missed. Condolences to his family.

David had touched humdreds of people in his lifetime. He reached and guided thousands of students in his music career. To read the comments from past fraternity brothers, students, teachers and neighbors, it is evident that Dave knew how to make people feel comfortable, loved and wanted.

I worked with David at Seabreeze, and his devotion to the band was unparalleled. Band students were as passionate about music as were football players playing the game. This came from David's ability to instill an extreme work ethic that carries them through more than just band. My thoughts are with his family.

I am so saddened to hear of Dave's passing. He was the band director and department chair my first year in VCS at Seabreeze. He has remained a cherished colleague over the years, always so interested in my career. Well done, good and faithful servant. Godspeed!
