David Howells Obituary
Born August 2, 1952, Columbus, Ohio. Entered eternal life June 25, 2014, Mesa, Arizona.
Dear David: In this life you were many things to many people a pilot of full size and remote-controlled aircraft, a professional musician, a stock car race driver, owner of your own auto repair shop. You worked in the construction industry running your own company and as a manager, director and vice president for others. You were the State Director of the Arizona Victory Owners Motorcycle Group, a founding member of the Christian Motorcycle Association and a member of the Victory of Mesa's Riders Group and the Arizona Model Aviators RC Flying Club (AMA). And you excelled in all of these areas, winning honors and awards in each. But it will be as a husband, son, dad, grandfather and friend that you will be most remembered. Your kind heart and compassion for others was always foremost. I've never known anyone as thoughtful and caring as you. For me, every day with you was like Valentines Day. My cousin Cindy told me that when she met you at my family reunion, you reassured her that you were a good man, would take care of me, and that you were "the real deal." She said she knew, like I did from the moment I met you, that you were. A lot of people wondered how we could marry after meeting once and only knowing each other and across two states at that for a little over a week. One of your friends even asked "What?! Did you get her pregnant?" (You know who you are.) But we both knew. There was never any doubt that we were meant to be together. You once told me that you wanted to be remembered as a man among men. And, baby, you were just that. A very good man. No one will ever come close to filling your motorcycle boots. David, you literally rocked my world and will live on in my heart forever. Not a day will go by that I won't think of you and miss you. I feel so blessed and thankful to have known you and shared a part of your life, and I look forward to the day I can feel your arms around me again. With all of my heart and love, your wife, Nadine.
David is survived by his wife, Nadine Howells; mother, Joanne Stedman; father, Trenton Howells; son David W. Howells and his wife Crystal; stepson, George Connelly; four grandchildren, Corey Howells, Alexander Howells, Tyler Howells, Bianca Gledhill; great granddaughter Stella Mae Howells; siblings Pam Howells Denney, Mark Howells, Lisa Howells, Kevin Howells, Rich Stedman, and Tracy Stedman; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park in the Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 6747 E. Broadway Road, Mesa.

I just moved in to the neighborhood that David lived in and although my time getting to know him was brief I can tell you he was a very good man. He was very welcoming and friendly and I was looking forward to trading stories about our house projects together as we had already started to do. He spoke very highly of his wife and was beyond excited to spend time with her as he would tell me stories about when they were together. He was a great man who will be missed by many. I'm glad I got to know a small part of him before he passed. To his wife and family my thoughts go out to you.

We were members of the Victory Owners Motorcycle Group. From our very first ride, David and the others made us feel part of the "family." We are saddened by the loss of this great man in the world, and offer our heartfelt sympathy and prayers to Nadine and his other loved ones. Nadine, it was so very apparent how much he loved you.

Dear Nadine, I never met you but when David was at Rainbow (in Camp Verde) doing an education we had a chance to talk about our personal lives over lunch. He was so happy that you were married and looked forward to many happy times with you. I am so sorry to read of his passing as he was truly a genuine and kind person.
