David Gregory Mikkelsen, 30, of Cedar Falls, Iowa passed away at his home on Sunday, September 25, 2011. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center. Funeral services will be held privately by the family. Burial will be conducted privately by the family at Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center. Memorials may be directed to the family or to the First Baptist Church of Grundy Center Building Fund. David was born on December 12, 1980 in Marshalltown, Iowa, to his parents Morris and Carolyn (Smoldt) Mikkelsen. He grew up in Dike and graduated from Dike-New Hartford High School. He attended Kirkwood Community College and the University of Northern Iowa. He is survived by his parents Morris and Carolyn Mikkelsen of Cedar Falls, Iowa; his sisters Kristin (Steve) Medlin of Little Rock, Arkansas and Kathy (Christopher) Moore of Lakeville, Minnesota; his brother Scott (Amber) Mikkelsen of Grimes, Iowa; his grandmother Frances Smoldt of Grundy Center, Iowa and 14 nieces and nephews.
We are so saddened to hear of the death of Dave. I can't imagine what a difficult time this is for you. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mikkelsen family.
