Not sure what to say?

David had that remarkable quality that, after you met him, you did not forget him. Always a gentleman, interested in you and just plain old Nice! He left a very long trail of good will. My thoughts go out to his family. You have been so lucky to have had a remarkable Husband and Dad. RIP David.

My deepest sympathy to the family losing a very nice person. My thoughts and prayers to you All.

Dearest Lori, Sam, and Jack,
Gone too soon and way too fast. I can't believe he is no longer with us on this earth. His spirit is in each one of us who had the pleasure of knowing him. My memories of David are all good ( something hard to say In these times). I've shed many tears but have also smiled and laughed a lot thinking about the little things the past couple of days. He has and will always have a special place in my heart. Take some peace in knowing he was so loved.

My sincerest condolences go out to the entire Patterson family. I had the honor of knowing David from our work at the Department of Education. May the sorrow and emptiness you now feel soon be replaced with happy memories of the times you shared with each other. Thoughts and prayers continue to go your way.

Lori, so sorry to read of Dave's passing. He will be remembered as a great teacher and coach ,but most importantly a great dad and husband. Keeping you and the boys in my thoughts. Sincerely, Chuck

Dear Lori, Sam, and Jack,
I'm so terribly sorry for your loss, for all our loss in David's passing.
I had the great good fortune to benefit from his Moodle Brilliance while I worked for Lewiston Adult Ed. David was quick, diligent, and extremely generous with his help and guidance as I worked to set up online programming for my classes. I did meet him in person at the MAEA conference a couple of years ago and was delighted to find him even kinder and funnier in person. An...

John and I were sad to hear the news today. As I drove past the soccer field this morning at Lenoir-Rhyne I could only think of happy memories. Our field is beautiful and soccer is now the center of campus - due partly to the risk that Davey & you took coming to a small university and having a vision. He will be missed by many. I have had many alumni call already sharing stories with me. I can only hope that my dad was there to greet him in heaven. May God's peace be with...

David's courage and humanity shone brightly throughout but his fight is over. Sleep peacefully wee brother. You will always in our hearts.

My wife Tanya and I went to college in NI with David and later we coached college soccer together at LR. He was a lover of many things; his family, soccer, nature, photography and people as a whole. He always saw the better side to everyone. Coach Davey touched many young people through coaching and was one of the best coaches I have ever known. I will treasure our time on the field together, our time on the driving range on game days before the game to relax. The special time our families...
