Not sure what to say?

Much love to you, Jan, and your family. Dave was remarkable and I so enjoyed the time we spent together. I have very fond memories of the hospitality you both showed my when I stayed at your home while at ACF.

David's mountaineering achievements were remarkable, and he contributed greatly to the mountaineering community. Although we barely knew David, our hearts go out to Jan, who has also made an impact on those who love the outdoors.
With deep sympathy, Ruth Carol and Glenn Cushman

Janet and Dave 50th Anniversary party

So many wonderful memories of Dave: working together at NCAR and riding bikes all over the front range. One memory that stands out took place drafting behind him on a bicycles, careening down Boulder Canyon and noticing that he had no brake on his rear wheel. When we got to bottom, I mentioned how important brakes are when bicycling down the canyon. Without missing a beat, he responded: "I know! That's why I put a brake on the front wheel before the ride." I'll never forget Dave.

Janet and Dave's 50th Anniversary Party

Jan and Family:
Dave was a remarkable guy-smart, interesting and interested and always on the lookout for the humor or irony in conversations. His work related to the Outdoor Life here in Boulder was exemplary. In ways big and small, Boulder will be a different place without him.

Please accept our sincere condolences.
