Not sure what to say?

He was my favorite Uncle. I loved him with all my heart. I so enjoyed the times they came to Florida and stayed at my folks house. He was a great man. He thought me this saying, "Be humble - Don't stumble.

Mary Love, Our sincere sympathy to you and the family in the loss of Dave. He will be greatly missed by many. Remember him doing the Brunswick Stews at Scottsville United Methodist Church.

So sorry for your loss. My sympathy goes out to Cathy and her family.

Thinking of all of you with love...the John Berg Family

Tessa and Family, I know what a blessings this man had to have been to so many of you, friends, and his fellow Americans. Thank GOD for the life of David and May GOD comfort those in mourning.

AS we pass their house and Dave's shop on the corner in Scottsville, we often think of Dave and Mary Love. My mother, Marjorie Smith, and Dave were contemporaries. Our home was "just down the road" from the Shumakers. I will always remember Dave, decked out in his black striped apron, making Brunswick Stew with Scottsville Methodist Men. Our memories are many. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

Semper Fidelis

What an honor to have known this great man. I will long remember the wedding dance at his grandaughter Debbie's
(now our beloved daughter-in-law) wedding where Mary Love and the Colonel danced.

I have the pleasure of calling Mr. Schumaker's daughter Donna my "friend". Sending my sympathy to the family at this sad time of loss. "We are traveling in the footsteps Of those who've gone before
But we'll all be reunited On a new and sunlit shore" ~ Lyrics from When the Saints go Marching In
