David Silva, 78, of Barstow, Ca. passed away on Saturday August 4, 2018 at Riverside Community Hospital with his family by his side. David had been battling a kidney illness for about 1 year.

David was born on July 18, 1940 in Valencia, N.M. and moved to Barstow in 1954. He is the son to the late Alberto & Josefita Silva. He is also preceded in death by his sister Isabel Valenzuela. He is survived by his brothers; Florenio, Triny, Bruno, Miguel and sisters; Nancy, Mary Lou, & Toni.

He is also survived by his wife Maria and their children; Alberto Galvan wife Peaches and their children, Joshua, Allison, & Phillip; Maritza Gault (Paul Sanchez) their children, Aliah, Alec, Ayden, & Aryana; Meritt Galvan and her children, Alyssa & Andrew; Rosalia Silva and her children, Adrian, Angel, Dominick, Christopher, & Andrea. Also, by his Former Wife Diane and their children; Son Rick Silva wife Karen and their children, David & Rachel; Daughter Annette Fields husband Jon and their children James Anderson and his wife Carol and their children Kristina & Alicia; as well as her other son Mark Anderson (Kim Schoffstall). As well as many nieces, nephews and many friends.

David was a graduate of Barstow High School. After high school he worked at The Ore Grande Rock Quarry and Judd Engine Brand in the 1960's before he dedicated 33 years of hard work as a machinist to Santa Fe Railroad. He retired in 2003. After he retired from Santa Fe he worked part time for Unique Landscaping.

He also enjoyed shooting, camping, was involved in pool tournaments and loved going on picnics in Oro Grande. He dedicated his last years in helping raise his 4 youngest grandsons. He loved many and was loved by many more. He was a hard-working man and our hero.
