Not sure what to say?

I remember the day SGM Sims took over A-3-5 from SGM Grape Gilmer. When he said "I want to see those Hog Lips, all you southern boys know what I mean when I say Hog Lip"...I was and am about as southern as you get, but at that time I had no idea what he was talking about but after just a short period of time in that formation I knew I better find out quick or life was going to become interesting...Later on I made a big time mistake and it very well could have ended my career..CSM...

I got to 5th SFG(A) in 1992. CSM Sims was the Group CSM. He had no business knowing an 18C in 3rd Bn. Four years later I was working out in Callahan Gym on Fort Bragg. CSM(R) Sims walks in and yells my name across the gym. I learned a lot about leadership that day. He will always be on my list of 5th SFG(A)greats.

CSM Sims was our commo man in C/2/5. Could make a 109 sing. Rest in peace.

Don't forget the Boxwoods

A Legend

RIP CSM, thoughts and prayers to family and friends.
Another violator.

Honor to the Soldier who bravely bears his country's cause. RIP CSM

CSM Sims, sorry I could never get my hog lip to your standards. I guess it just didn't peter out the way you wanted. You'll be missed old warrior but the stories will continue until we are all gone. My condolences to your family.
