KINGSPORT, TN – DAVID LEE THACKER, AGE 54
David Lee Thacker, 54, of Kingsport, TN passed away unexpectedly due to heart complications on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Holston Valley Medical Center.
David was a member of Tennessee Peacemakers Motorcycle Club, Boozy Creek Chapter, for over 30 years. His granddaughter, Aubrey Lee, was the light of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John (Doc) and Georgia Thacker; and sister, Ruth Hurd.
He leaves behind 2 daughters, Rachel Cheyenne Thacker and Ciara Thacker Carter (Justin); granddaughter, Aubrey Lee Thacker; mother of his children, Gina Burchfield; siblings, Johnny Thacker, Sarah McGaha (Ronnie), Suzanne Manis (Sam), Tim Thacker (Sabrina) and Carolyn Fleenor (James); brother-in-law, James Hurd; several nieces and nephews including special niece, Angel “Pig” Fletcher.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 5-7 PM at Colonial Funeral Home in Weber City, VA and other times at brother’s home, 1050 Cold Comfort Road, Church Hill, TN. Service will follow at 7 PM with Rev. Harold Morelock and Pastor Chad Tipton officiating.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park in Blountville, TN. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 AM.
Pallbearers will be Tim Thacker, Ronnie McGaha, Sam Manis, Rocky Blakely, Shannon Giles, Clyde Ray Rice, Martin Lane and James “Cuz” Morrow. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles David Fletcher, Jeff Thacker, James Fleenor, Eddie Fletcher, and Dale Gilliam & the Tennessee Peacemakers M.C.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of her papaw to the “Aubrey Lee Scholarship Account” at any Eastman Credit Union location or mailed to 1800 Kensington Place, Gray, TN 37615.

Thacker came and changed a flat tire for my teenager, broke down without a jack, he didn’t have to, he wouldn’t take a penny for it, he wouldn’t take any praise for it, I would have done anything to honor and compensate him for interrupting his day to help my kid, just shows you he was Jesus to my kid when my son needed him, and I’ll always have love for him for that, all my love and prayers
