David R. Whitfield

I met Dave the summer before my freshman year at the local fire department. He had the most amazing smile. There are a lot of things I could share about him, but none of them would capture his true essence. I will say, which speaks louder than any words ever could, that at 44 years old, I still regularly think of him and that summer. I often play the Barry McGuire song he played for me, Eve of Destruction and realize just how far ahead he was for his years and what a gem he was even so young....

I still miss you my sweet David.

When we were in high school, Dave was a popular kid, and his friends picked on me. And Dave always hung back when they were moving out, and he would acknowledge me and apologize to me for them. He didn't have to do that.

Dave served as legal counsel for our company. I was fortunate to meet him a few years ago at a Griffins game and he was one of the most hospitable and friendly people I've ever met. Dave was a tremendously generous and intelligent person, and he used these traits for the good of his clients. I will miss Dave, and I'm glad to have known him.
