David L. Whitmer
David L. Whitmer, age 58, of Minerva, died Thursday, May 11, 2006, in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. He was born Dec. 26, 1947, to Alvin and Mary (Heckman) Whitmer. He worked for Summitville Tile, was a crossing guard for Minerva Local Schools and was a member of the AARP. He is survived by his wife, Gloria (Beamer) Whitmer, who he married July 15, 1978; a daughter, Haley Whitmer of the home; two sons, Curtis and Brian Whitmer of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Tom (Judy) Ward of North Canton and Kathy Gotschall of Virginia; two brothers, Bill and wife, Sue Kellner of Wilmington, NC, Al and wife, Sue Whitmer of New Philadelphia; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by two brothers, James and William Whitmer. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Mike Zellers officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial donations may bemade to the family.

I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Dave. What hurts the most is knowing that i have missed so much and that i cannot be there in this time of sorrow.....Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all and i miss you all more than you know.....i love you all so much and you all are in my heart now and forever and always!!!!!!!!

We were so sorry to hear of Dave's passing,and want you to know you are all in our thoughts and prayers in the days to come. I know he is no longer suffering, and I am sure that he and PaPa Soles are catching up on old news. I remember his friendship to Terry during his sickness, and his help after Terry's death. He will be remembered by alot who knew him. Curt, your like a son to me, and know that I am thinking of you during this time, along with your mom, Brian and Haley.....always...
