Not sure what to say?

Mr. Boot was my accounting teacher at PNHS. He told us, "If nothing else, you will learn how to spell 'miscellaneous' by the end of this class." Of course, we learned a lot more than that from him. He had high expectations for his students - you never wanted to go to his class unprepared. After finishing his class, we all had a real-world skill. Now we recognize he gave us even more.

I was an exchange student from Germany in 1994 and had Mr Boot for Accounting during my stay. I was just looking through my Class book and browsing the internet for students and teachers from the past. I am really sorry to hear about his death. My thoughts are with you. Best wishes from Germany! Sabine

I too found Mr. Boot to be a special teacher at PNHS (class of 1980), he could be a difficult teacher at times, but I always knew he cared about his students. My most sincere condolences are with his family at this time.

Marcia and Family, I offer sincere condolence to you in Dean's passing. Our Christian assurance that he is with the Lord helps during this sad time. I deeply respected him as my JV basketball coach at KCHS, my teacher in typing, and as our class adviser. He was a true gentleman but he demanded high standards, for which I am thankful. May the Lord comfort you all. Most sincerely....

I had Mr. Boot for bookkeeping at PNHS (class of '74) He was definitely one of my one of my favorite/best teachers. A very kind and caring person. My thoughts and sympathies are with you.

Marcia & Family,

Sheryl & I would like to extend our sympathy in the passing of our coach & mentor. He was tough & demanding, but just what I needed for motivation to do well. He also gave support & encouragement to your babysitter, Sheryl, at critical times in her young life. Simply put, he along with my father, was my hero. He always gave me the special attention that a father would give his own son.

Peace & blessings for a future in the absence of one who was...

Mr. Boot was a special teacher at PNHS. I graduated in 1980 and had him for Accounting. We had lots of friendly battles over my view that the Swim Team should get the same benefits as the football team when it came to buses, etc. He as a kind and loving soul who left a wonderful mark on my life.

Dear Marcia, We were so saddened at the news of Dean's passing. We have lovely memories of your family when we were all teachers in Portage, many years ago. We have always held Dean in such high regard. We remember him as a good good person, with a gentle demeanor and an innate kindness toward all. Heartfelt prayers are with you and your family.

Marcia and family Irene and Ron would like to extend our sympathy to your family. So many good memories!
