Not sure what to say?

As a graduate engineer some 20 years ago, I spent many a day standing out in a field in West Auckland in the rain, digging hand-augered boreholes with Dean, testing and logging the soil. The easy company and friendship that Dean provided and the valuable knowledge he shared made all this enjoyable, a fond memory and a time in my career that I will never forget. I was deeply saddened to hear the news of his passing, my sincere condolences to his family.

So sad and the loss is felt across the globe - your influence Dean was incredible and your loss to the construction industry incalculable

The Executive and the President of the Whangarei RSA are thinking of you Tanya and Deans family at this sad time.

Chris Harold. President.

THis is such a shock. My heart goes out to Tanya, Luke and Phoepe. Dean was such a substantial influence to me. Not a day goes by that I'm not reminded of him and the lessons he taught me during the early years of my geotechncial career. Rest in Peace Dean and thanks for everything you taught me. I'm so glad we got to catch up last year at the ALGA conference. Wish I could be there to celebrate your life, but be sure your memory lives on in my own work; and all those I have taught since....

What a shock!! RIP Deano condolences to your family , we will miss you

Dean was a friend and colleague - who was my go to man when I needed complex Geotechnical issues explained in plain English. A very clever man.
We have both enjoyed sharing the ups and downs of the Taniwha over the years and feel lucky to have caught up with Dean recently for a footy chat - as well as solving the world's problems.
I will miss him sorely.
And I am absolutely heartbroken the lovely Tania.
Lots of love to you and your family.
Kerry
