Newcomer Funeral Home - West Metro ChapelDeborah Ann Cook, born on March 15, 1960, in Evansville, Indiana, graced the world with her vibrant spirit until her untimely passing on February 6, 2026, in Aurora, Colorado. Deborah’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and indomitable strength. An extraordinary homemaker, Deborah took immense pride in creating a sanctuary that reflected her fiery personality. Her home was a meticulous realm where every trinket and knick-knack found its rightful place, demanding respect in the form of clean shoes at the threshold—a testament to her unyielding attention to detail.
A culinary virtuoso, she had an unparalleled gift in the kitchen, best known for her sumptuous chicken alfredo and the lasagna that became legendary among family and friends. Celebrations under her roof were splendid affairs, infused with warmth and joy, where every birthday and holiday was transformed into an unforgettable memory, lovingly orchestrated to ensure everyone felt cherished and included.
Deborah’s adventurous soul was evident in her penchant for travel, often embarking on thrilling escapades to Laughlin and Las Vegas; and she reveled in the excitement of gambling at "The Hill." Possessing a boisterous laugh and a remarkable ability to light up any room, she captivated those around her with humor and heart. Deborah wore her emotions openly, sharing her opinions with ferocity, yet always tempered with an abundance of love.
Her educational journey began with her father serving in the Army, which took her to high school in Berlin, Germany, ultimately culminating in her graduation from Widefield High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. A proud athlete, she excelled in track and cross country, nurturing a competitive spirit that extended beyond the racecourse.
Above all else, the highlight of Deborah's life was her beloved daughter, Jennifer Brooks (Jonathan), a cherished bond that blossomed into a legacy through her remarkable grandchildren—Marquis Brooks, Deborah Brooks, Jonathan Lincoln Jr., Jayden Lincoln, Louie Brooks, and Julia Lincoln. Each grandchild was gifted a nickname steeped in affection—Booka, Doots, Buddy Wuddy, Button-Nosed Boy, Sweet Pea, Little Man, Little P., Little Bug, Chunky and Baby Buddy—all tokens of her love.
Deborah’s warmth radiated through to her siblings—Pamela Tompkins, Gerald Brooks, and Michael Brooks—along with her nieces and nephews to whom she was adored as Aunt Debbie. Her heart ached for her family members who preceded her—the loving embrace of her parents, Charlotte and Wilbert Brooks, her devoted husband Leon Cook, her brother Robert Brooks, and her baby sister Sheryl Zappone, all of whom now await her arrival in the heavens.
As the sun sets on a life rich with memories and love, a vibrant celebration of Deborah's journey will be held: Visitation at Newcomer Funeral Home, West Metro, on February 19, 2026, from 10 AM to 11 AM, followed by a Funeral Service from 11 AM to 12 PM, and concluding with her interment at Ft. Logan National Cemetery at 1 PM.
Deborah Ann Cook leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and precious memories, ever looking forward to reuniting with her beloved Leon in the shimmering embrace of eternity. Her spirited essence will forever illuminate the lives of all who knew her.
