Delma Giger, 69 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville.
Born Monday, November 3, 1947 in Warrensburg, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Albert Greife and the late Hazel Smith Greife.
She was a lifelong resident of Higginsville and a member of First Baptist Church. She graduated Higginsville High School in 1965 and married James P. Giger Sr. on October 4, 1974. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2014.
She was a nurse at the Higginsville Habilitation Center for over 35 years retiring in 2005. She loved farm life, country living and loved all animals.
Surviving are one son, Billy ( Gina) Engelhardt of Blue Springs, Missouri; one stepson Patrick (Charla) Giger of Brunswick, Missouri; one brother, Larry (Shari) Greife of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; four grandchildren, Meghan Goodwin, Madelyn Engelhardt, Nicholas Engelhardt and J.P. Giger and five great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband; one daughter Lora Engelhardt and one grandson Chase Engelhardt.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday at Hoefer Chapel with the Rev. Ric Engelhardt officiating. Interment will be in the City Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at Hoefer Chapel. Memorial contributions may be sent to Preferred Hospice or Meyer Care Nursing Staff.
Casket bearers are Keith Bass, Tim Cowan, Richard Graham, John Mansfield, Justin Engelhardt and Teddy Trice.
