Strickland Funeral Home - Crystal River Obituary

A Funeral Mass for Dennis Cecil Mowbray, 62, of Deanville, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 29, 2010, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Frenstadt, with Father Dimitrij Colankin officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery under the care and direction of Strickland Funeral Home of Caldwell. A visitation is set for Sunday, March 28, from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. Pallbearers will be Tighe Mowbray, Mario Barrera, Nicholas Urbanovsky, Jason Urbanovsky, Kevin Rodgers, Michael LaFountain, Richard Morris, and Joseph Morris. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Barrera, Colt Wilson, Joshua Mowbray, Paul Mowbray, and Bradley Mowbray. Dennis was born September 5, 1947 to Ralph Mowbray and Willie Mae Blinka Mowbray in Taylor, Texas. Dennis was baptised at St. Cyril Catholic Church in Granger, Texas in 1947 and confirmed in February of 1968 in Rialto, CA. He then married Chryl Bond on February 24, 1968 in Rialto, California. Dennis was a member of the Diamond Club. He worked for Southern California Edison for 30 years and for Hughes-Doonan in Caldwell for 2 years. He also coached Little League. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Dennis is very much loved by his family as a husband, a father, a papa, and an uncle and will be always be remembered and missed. Dennis is survived by his wife Chryl Mowbray of Deanville, parents; Ralph & Willie Mae Mowbray of Deanville, son and daughter-in-law; Tighe & Rachel Mowbray of Deanville, daughters and son-in-law; Jamie Mowbray of Deanville, Kimberly & Mario Barrera of Hutto, sisters and brothers-in-law; Carolyn & Bobby Urbanovsky of Austin, Linda & William Morris of Rialto, California, and eight grandchildren; Kaytlyn Quinto, Cheyanne Barrera, Colt Wilson, Cody Barrera, Kamryn Barrera, Joshua Mowbray, Paul Mowbray, and Bradley Mowbray.
