FIFE LAKE — Dennis Joel Sands, 35, of Fife Lake, died Friday, May 12, 2006, at Munson Medical Center.

Dennis was born March 30, 1971, in Milwaukee, the son of Alfred Palacios and Rhonda Sands Draper.

Dennis lived his life as an innocent. He took great delight in his reflection, which mirrored his simple beauty and his free, uncorrupted nature. He will be remembered fondly as an eternal child, unblemished by life's complications.

Dennis is survived by his parents, Alfred Palacios of San Jose, Calif., and Rhonda (Jeff) Draper of Suttons Bay; a sister, Jeanette (Nick) Jeffrey; a niece and nephew, Morgan and Keaton Jeffrey, also of Suttons Bay; and special caregivers, Chuck and Janina Park of Fife Lake.

Visitation will be held this evening, May 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Omena.

Memorials may be directed to the Grand Traverse Project 2883 Aero Park Drive, Traverse City MI 49686.

Arrangements are with the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay.

I did not know Dennis, I just saw him in the paper today. He looked like a wonderful man. I'm sure that he was full of life and always brought a smile to so many faces.
It's hard to find someone with such simple beauty, he was a rare find, something very precious. I'm sorry for the loss of your son. I can't even begin to imagine how it would feel to lose a child.
Please know that even in his death he continues to make people smile and make them remember to look at...
