Not sure what to say?

Eve and family...it's always difficult to say farewell to a loved one. Time does heal, and Derek will live on in your memories...and remember he's in the care and peace of God.
Bethanne

So sorry for your loss, Eve! We are so thankful Derek is no longer in any pain. I will always remember our 'mayor' (as we would refer to him here in Collingwood Cove). He would call the county to represent and get things done! So many times we would have a good chat when he would be walking or biking by to the mail. I will miss him here in our neighbourhood for sure!

Oh Derek. You were always a bright spot of the neighbourhood to us. Whether it was having a plan, or inviting us in or coming over to have a chat. You are loved, and I'm glad we will see you again. Much love from the Ferris' Family.

To Eve and your family: My deepest condolences and sympathy goes out to you all in the memory of a strong, stalwart, compassionate and humerous man who ALWAYS had a positive attitude. Knowing him made my life go in a better direction. I will be eternally grateful for his help and guidance. He's probably up there telling a joke right now. Amanda Lambert - sending God's Blessings to a fabulous man, husband, friend, grandad, uncle, and many more hats that he wore. xo Many thanks to Susan...

Dear Eve and family, we mourn Derek's passing with you. Our families are far away, and so it meant a lot to me when Nicolas as a toddler would refer to Derek as "church Grandpa" -- and it was so true -- Derek was such an open, welcoming, warm presence in our midst. What a blessing to have known him.

We are deeply saddened by Derek's passing, He was always ready with a joke or a laugh for everyone. Eve, and Family, please find comfort and strength in knowing your family and friends share your sorrow at this sad time.
Love, Dale and Lorraine MacDonald

My love to you and all of your family, Susan, at this difficult but meaningful time!

My thoughts and prayers are with you, Eve at the passing of Derek. I will remember him in the 'balcony' of the pool, looking down on us, cheering us on or making some funny faces or gestures.
He will be missed. May God give you and your family comfort at this difficult time.
