April 9, 2008-Today you would've been 21 years old and selfishly I would do anything to have you here, all the dreams I had for you(us)have gone unfulfilled, but you are always with me and you can never be replaced in that special place in my heart/life. I miss you so much.

I remember Derek as a sweet, 10 or 11 year old and am so sad to hear of his death. None of us can possibly know your sorrow. I hope the knowledge that he is at peace in the presence of our Lord and Saviour is of some comfort to you at this time of immense pain and sorrow. Helen Keller once said, "What we have once enjoyed and deeply loved, we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Much love to all of you.

Derek was a great guy. I played soccer and baseball with him over the years. He always had a smile on his face
