My sincere condolences go to the family during this time of loss. I'll miss George a great deal. I had the pleasure of working with George at McGee Creek, where he was my supervisor for about 3 years in the early 80's. Our talks including hearing of his WWII experiences, his work expertise, stories of family, and just him being a pleasure to be around will always be what I remember. (And learning that there are 3 sections in a banana).

I'm so sorry I won't be able to attend Uncle Deurweent's funeral . I always remember him as a kind , generous and wonderful human being . He was a very humble man . I also enjoyed his since of humor . Being a Simmons you must have a since of humor ! I loved him and Aunt Marge . He will be missed .

George was 31 years my senior, but we were best friends. Living next door had it's advantages as Marg was an awesome cook and she would have George hand something hot and delicious over the fence. Jill would return the favor so we always had something good going back and forth.
They met my daughter, Brooke, and they both fell in love with her and claimed her as their adopted granddaughter. George was always there at her special occasions through high school, college, professional...
