Dewey Carlyle Walker, 88 of Port Orange, FL, a former resident of Sunrise Drive in Princeton, died Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Advent Health Daytona Beach. Born in Pinoak December 25, 1932, he was the son of the late Evert and Belva Kester Walker. Dewey was a retired coal miner with 23 years of service for U.S. Steel. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Princeton and the United Mine Workers. Dewey proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 11 years and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, American Legion and the Military Order of the Purple Heart.  In addition to his parents two brothers, Ralph Walker and Paul Walker and two sisters, Virginia Morgan and Ruby Hurst, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Edna Elizabeth Johnson Walker; one daughter Linda Clayton Rowley and one son, James Steven Walker all of Daytona, FL; two grandsons, Michael Rowley and wife Kayla and David Rowley; one great-grandson, Ace Rowley; one brother, Cody Walker and wife Hilda of Roanoke, WV and two sisters, Velma Bailey of Pittsburgh, PA and Ila Tschanz and husband Chuck of Bogart, GA. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, July 30, 2021 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Dr. Dan Jividen officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens where the U.S. Army National Guard Honor Guard will conduct Military Graveside Rites. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon to the service hour on Friday.
