Not sure what to say?

Chief Meyer was a mentor and friend. When he was appointed as Chief Probation Officer of Yolo County, I knew that things were going to change for the better. Don brought a high degree of professionalism, a keen knowledge of community corrections, ethics, and integrity with him. He mentored me, and many others, and we are better because of what he taught us. I am blessed to have worked for and with him during his tenure in Yolo County, and beyond. I pray for comfort, strength, and peace for...

My sincere condolences to Maureen, Aimee, and all of Chief's family and friend's. I worked for Chief Meyer as his secretary, when he was Chief Probation Officer of Yolo County from 2004 - 2010. His knowledge of Community Corrections was impeccable. He was the best Chief I'd ever worked for. He was so good to me, and always made a point of making his employee's feel proud to work for Yolo County Probation. His compassion for our kid's in the juvenile hall was always his priority. He was...

I just learned of Chief Don Meyer passing. Don had a good empathy and understanding and insight of humanity and individuals. This man truly tried to fix things. Don metered me many times throughout my Probation career. Thank you Don. Thank you Chief. RIP

Don and I shared the same passion for our role as probation officers.

I met Don at Uncle John's Pancake House 62 years ago. He was a busboy and I was a dishwasher. We went from there as cooks to the Sacramento County Probation Dept. Our friendship was as close as two people can be. He was a brother and my best friend. I will miss our long conversations as we solved the world's problems. Paul

Peace and healing to Don´s many friends and beloved family. I met Don when I was a very young and very new CPO from Shasta County in 2006. He was kind to me and mentored me without any hint of condescension or hubris. He was a good man, good professional and I appreciated him.

My sincere condolences to Chief Meyer's family and friends. I was a new chief when I met Chief Meyer, and he was always welcoming and willing to share his vast knowledge of the probation profession and being a leader. He will not be forgotten. The world lost a great one.

When Don and I were in College at Sac State we worked together as cooks at Uncle John's Pancake House on Stockton Blvd. He was a go-getter then and remained so. Maureen was our beautiful young waitress. Hard work but we were young and on the move. RIP Don and hope that Maureen is well.
