Not sure what to say?

Don was a great friend to my husband Ron Kienbaum and did the eulogy at Ron's funeral. We met Don while enjoying their favorite past time Sporting Clays.
Don was a funny generous man, Ron and our son Zach really enjoyed shooting with Don at various shooting tournaments. I loved his funny stories. Zach and I have missed you.
Heavenly Shooting!

I met Don when I was invited to my first Links - Yost family holiday dinner, early in my relationship with Richard, his younger half-brother. I was immediately impressed with how warm, gracious, and inclusive he was, how he welcomed me to the family. When I got to know more about him, I was delighted by his boundless curiosity, his many interests and hobbies. His real estate career was very impressive, but I think that he was always much more than his work or any single facet of his life....

Don was my half-brother, who was already thirteen years old when I was born. We shared the same wonderful Father, Milton Links. Throughout my childhood and into adult life, Don was always wonderful to me, to my younger brother, Robert (Bo) and my Mother, Roslyn, not to mention, our entire family and friends. To say that he had a profound influence on me would be an understatement. We shared an interest in creativity, the arts and, by the time I had graduated from high school and had...

I worked for and with Don for much of the 1970's and early 80's, and enjoyed many 11:30 lunches at the latest hot spot with our colleagues. He introduced me to sushi on Solano Ave., sitting at the counter where the sushi chef prepared special items for him. Don generously and kindly shared his knowledge of real estate with me, and willingly shared details of whatever obsession he developed in his search for knowledge and entertainment. I still laugh when I recall how confounded he became ...

I was a babysitter for Don's children when we were neighbors and all very young. He was a warm and fun dad and a great neighbor. Although it has been many years I have always thought of him and the family fondly. My deepest condolences to the entire family. He will be missed.

Don Yost was uniquely generous, intelligent, and larger-than-life during the few short years, long ago, when my path crossed his as part of the small-boat sailing group at Lake Merritt... Deepest sympathy to Don's family, friends and associates. He was one of those few people who make a huge difference...

I only knew Don for 80+ years and I considered him my older brother. He was 85 years old but got 200 years of living out of those years. All the people mentioned in the article are/were truely blessed to have him part of their lives as I did. I will miss him but I will have 200 years of memories to recall every day.

Don was a great friend but really a mentor. Lots of people impact your life in many ways and then there are a select few that have a profound impact. Don was one of those for me. I will miss him very much.
