Not sure what to say?

My condolences to the Chilcote family. The last time I saw Don was in 2000 at the Medford airport. We only had minutes to talk, because one of us was leaving and the other had just arrived. He met me with that friendly smile of his that I remembered from four decades before. I knew and enjoyed his company from grade school through high school. Our class of ’59 will miss him.

I went to High School with Don in Grants Pass, he was always happy and friendly.
I ran into him a few years back in Phoenix and we had such a great visit. He will be missed.

Dear Ann,
I am so sorry to hear of Don's passing. I enjoyed talking with him and hearing about his family. He always had a smile and appreciated my assistance. You and your family are in my prayers. He was one of my favorite people.

I have great memories of Don as the camp leader at Boy Scout summer camps I attended 40 years ago. He always had time for every Scout, ran a great program, and the campfire programs reflected his great sense of humor. I have thought many times over the years of the good times at scout camp.

Don was truly a great friend and Scouter. He always gave everyone of us an encouraging word. He will be long remembered.

He was truly one of the finest men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with in the Order. I will miss him very much.

Don was a good friend to so many of his classmates at Grants Pass High School. In a range of endeavors, he was always one of the most energetic and enthusiastic contributors in our class of 1959. My most persistent memories of Don are of the smile that was always there and of his ready and distinctive laugh.

To the Chilcote Family,
I grew up with Don in Grants Pass, living on 10th street, he lived just two houses away. His family and ours did get-togethers while he and his parents lived there. I had talked to Don about ten years ago as I was the district Eagle Board Chairman for Pioneer district here in Portland. He was such a wonderful person, friend and fellow Scouter. He will be truly missed by us all. My thoughts and prayers are with you always and during this time of loss.

I remember working with Don on staff at the National Leadership Seminar and the National Order of the Arrow Conference. He was great at inspiring us youth leaders in the Order.
