The funeral service for Donald Gene Simpson, age 71, of Garber, will be at 2:00 PM Monday, March 18, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Covington, with Rev. Phillip Gregg officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackbear Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Donald was born to Albert Jay and Oval Della (Norris) Simpson on December 27, 1941, in Lucien, and died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in Enid.
Donald grew up in the Garber-Covington area. He worked in the oilfield and then at Hackney, retiring after thirty years. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Covington.
He is survived by two daughters, Emmaleigh Simpson of Shawnee and Ashley Simpson of Enid; six grandchildren; and several cousins.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, son Matthew, two sisters Martha Honegger and Carolyn Hoback.
