1948 - 2017 Donald Sims, 68, passed away at the VA Hospital in Houston, TX on Sunday, March 12, 2017. He was a retired U. S. Marine Corps veteran who served during the Vietnam Conflict. He is survived by his children, Jimmy Samuel (Alexandra), Michael Sims (Megan), Donald Sims, Jr. (Tasha), Garland Sims, Jason Sims (Manishi), Joshua Sims (Candy), Donna Johnson (Chris), Goldie Michelle Poole (Christopher): siblings, Walter Sims (DarrAnn), Ambrose L. Sims, Jr. (Joyce), Robert C. Sims (Jennifer), Wllie Drew (Cecelia), Thomas Frasier Walker (Amina) and Cheryl Walker; 30 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. On Saturday, March 25, 2017 there will be a visitation from 9 a.m. until his celebration of life service at 11 a.m. at Anitoch Missionary Baptist Church (3920 W. Cardinal Dr.) Donald will be laid to rest with military honors at Live Oak Memorial Park under the professional care and direction of Comeaux Community Funeral Chapel.
