Not sure what to say?

Oops this was 1969 not 1967. Here is Fanny Brice. If only I’d remained friends with her after she moved. I have always talked about her to people.
Now I will look up all her books and read them and read all about her historical writings and research. She was so smart and beautiful inside and out. If I could go back in time she would have remained my best friend forever and I would have loved all her writings and interests. I’m 63 now and realize we are all on borrowed time.

I’m looking for pictures of Donnell and I. I was just thinking of her because at a Halloween party I had at my house in 1967 (yes we were 10).....she was Fanny Brice . A spitting image of Barbra . We are so sorry to learn, belatedly, of Donnell's passing. She was a wonderful writer, and we treasure our signed copies of her books, and will always remember the tour she took us on of the "Benet House" in Benicia (and the wonderful exhibit she put together there of Benet books). She will remain an inspiration, and we will hope to pass on her kindness to other writers over the years. Our sympathy to her family. Rest in Peace, old friend!

Long time friend of Benicia, Donnell Rubay will be greatly missed by many in our historic town for her tireless contributions keeping us all aware of our heritage in this beautiful city. She will remain dear in our hearts. My condolences to her husband Jon, and daughter Anastasia.

Offering our deepest condolences during this difficult time.
