Donald Ray Baker, age 66, of Nancy, KY, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center.

Donnie was born on October 24, 1954 in Nancy, KY to the late Ray Baker and Geneva Stevenson Baker.  He was a former employee of Tecumseh. Donnie was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. 

He is survived by his son, Shane (and Laura) Baker of Somerset; two grandchildren, Gabe Baker and Caleb Baker; three sisters, Betty (and Jack) Cox of Nancy, Rowena Mitnick of Virginia Beach, VA and Sue (and Garry) Burton of Nancy; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a nephew, Jamie Halcomb. 

Visitation will be on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 9:00am until 11:00am at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

His funeral service will follow on Friday at 11:00am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Shane Baker officiating.  Burial will be at the Baker Family Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Gabe Baker, Caleb Baker, Larry Norfleet, Garry Burton, Kevin Burton, Mark Halcomb, Sam Hollen and Jack Cox.  Honorary pallbearer will be D.C. Muse.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland and the Gideon Bible Memorial Fund.

I am sorry for your loss, I remember Donnie as a young boy when we were neighbors at Trimble in the 50's and mid 60,s. Sue and Rowena was in my graduating class at NHS.

Donny was always so sweet to us & a terrific neighbor! We are so sorry to the family for your loss. We are honored to have gotten to know him.
