Not sure what to say?

Deepest sympathy, Jon. I remember you and I talking about your dad while we worked at the Med Center in the PACU. I am so sorry. Helen Ann

What Van taught me about horses was only the beginning of his lessons. His wry life views, sense of humor and ability to tell the best stories will be with me always. Memories of rides with him and Vicki and shared stories of horses and happy times after keep him in my heart. He was one of a kind and one of the best.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

I met "Mr. Ketzler" a few times when I was a youngster in Pony Club at Ft. Leavenworth, KS. He was so kind to us and I learned how to take of my boots after our tour of Dehner's. I also have a horse show photo that is a favorite of mine with him presenting me an award in his full hunt attire. His kind words that day meant a lot to me.

Both he and his dad always did like police officers and always tried from day one from the old shop on Farnam to please all

It is with great sadness that I have learned of the death of Don. He was a true friend to Ireland and especially Knocklong where he set up a factory in the early 70's. I was privileged to work for him & indeed learned a lot from him. Even though forty years years have passed,he and his family are still fondly remembered here. He hunted with the scarteen hounds on many occasion and the late Thady Ryan who was the Master of the hounds was a great friend of his. May he rest in peace. Don...

We are so fortunate to have had the opportunity to know and trail ride with Van years ago. A very kind man that always had a kind word for everyone, we need more in this world like him.

As an employee of Prairie Life, I saw Van come into the gym with his good friend Vicki Krecek quite often!! They would always get a workout in at the gym and then off for coffee and to ride horses!! Van always talked about his horse snowy and how much he enjoyed riding his horse with friends and it was always a grand day in his mind!! Van was a great man and will be missed at Prairie Life by myself and other members!! A true legend!!!!

From Van's 80th birthday celebration at the Dehner factory. Rest in Peace.

There's but scant hope to glean
In the brief period of the “now”
The total impact of a man
To whom eight decades bow

But notable marks left quietly
Throughout the whole life story
Do indeed rush across the mind,
As hounds run to the quarry

Paths of glory past traversed
In time of greatest need
From the...
