Doris Becker

Doris (Dora) Marie Becker 86, of Pittsburg, CA passed away in the early morning hours of January 21st.
Dora was the 12th and youngest of her large Italian family, The Trezzas. Dora was preceded in death by her husband Jack, her son Michael, her parents, Girolomo and Francesca, and siblings, Suzie, Antonina, Ratzi, Bessi, Betty, Sarah, Rose, Tony, Frank, Josephine, and John. Dora was a loving wife, mother, Nana, aunt and friend to all.
Dora grew up in Pittsburg and met the love of her life, Jack, when she was in high school. They married in 1956 and remained in Pittsburg with their three children. Jack and Dora loved raising their family in a community where they were active in clubs, sports, and school events. Along with being a homemaker, Dora worked at Pittsburg High School as a secretary in the Career Center.
For Dora, tradition was important. She exemplified living life to its fullest. Holidays together, summers with her family in beautiful Lake Tahoe, games (Poker nights, Yahtzee, all-nighters at the Keno machine), adventures in Europe & Alaska. Yes, the woman who hated driving on the freeway went on a fishing boat to fish for salmon and halibut in Alaska and loved it! She was an adventurer at heart!
Dora’s was the place to be for a hot meal, coffee, and heart to heart chats. There is no doubt that her spaghetti feasts will go down in history with friends and family. Dora never met a casino or card game she didn’t like and was known as the woman with the thoughtful treats at weekly bingo nights.
Dora will be remembered for her strength, generosity, thoughtfulness, sincerity (perhaps sometimes stubborn, but always with good intentions) and a deep love for her family and friends. Although she never liked being the center of attention, she wore the Trezza matriarch crown well. She will be greatly missed! Dora is survived by her son Robert, daughter Suzanne and many loving grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
