Doris Lorraine Coats, 70, passed away on June 22, 2017.
A native of Johnston County, Doris was born June 7, 1947 to the late James and Mamie Wood Coats. She loved working on the farm, cleaning houses, working in the garden, and most of all, she loved fishing.
She is survived by her daughters, Vonda Jefferys and husband, Robert and Karen Martin; sister, Rita Thompson and husband Jerry; brothers, Jerry Coats and wife, Diane and Verlon Coats and wife, Rita W. Coats; grandchildren, Kevin Jefferys, Joseph Jefferys, Lauren Williams, Brianna Danskin, and Tahlyr Danskin. In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by a brother, Glenwood Coats and a sister Ellen Laverne Coats.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, July 1, 2017 in the McLaurin Funeral Home Chapel at 12pm. Interment will follow at Wake Chapel Memorial Gardens, 905 Wake Chapel Road, Fuquay Varina, NC 27526. The family will receive friends from 11am to 12pm at the funeral home.
