Doris A. Desbiens

Doris A. (Lemerise) Desbiens, age 91, wife of Joseph E. Desbiens of Riley Ave., Somerset, MA, formerly of Brayton Ave., Fall River, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Philippe L. and Lumina (Perrault) Lemerise. Mrs. Desbiens was a resident of Somerset for 20 years. She was employed by the former Har Lee Manufacturer as a machine operator until her retirement, and was also employed by the U.S. Navy in Newport, as a file clerk. Mrs. Desbiens was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, Somerset. She was a member of the Mix n Match Bowling League and the Somerset Counsel on Aging, where she played bingo for several years. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting and reading. Besides her husband of 66 years, she is survived by her two daughters, Theresa and her husband Gerald Langis of Somerset and Doris and her husband Rick Garant of Fall River; three sons, Roland Desbiens and his wife Vivian of Fall River, Raymond Desbiens and his wife Sandy of Taunton and Russell Desbiens of Fall River; she is the sister of the late Jeannette Marchand and Cecile Desbiens; she has fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Desbiens' funeral, will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 9:00AM from the BOULE FUNERAL HOME, 615 Broadway, Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Patrick's Church, 306 South St., Somerset. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00PM to 7:00PM.
