Doris Elizabeth Duckworth

So sorry to hear about Doris. My mom,Shirley Thatcher, introduced me to Doris when she was about 87 or 88. We went to some shows together. What a pistol she was! She will be missed. Our condolences to the family. Please let us know when the memorial service will be.

I've known Doris since Steve and I were in 6th gr. She was a great mom to him. She and my mom, Emma Campbell, were friends, and had similar personalities. Doris got me a job at Orr's when I was planning to move to St. Pete, FL. Steve was attending the Univ. if Tampa, and he and I flew down together. We got together several times to go to the beach or just hang out. Doris would send my sister, Ellie, and me packages with cute clothes she'd buy at Orr's. She was a love! I'm so sorry for...

I grew up in the area and knew the Duckworth family. Doris and my mother were friends and Mom also worked at Orrs. Steve was a classmate of my sister Rene and when he was going to college in Tampa and she and I lived in St. Petersburg, we used to enjoy bringing him and Terry Weider over to spend the day at the beach and make them a home cooked meal now and then. My sincere condolences to all the family.
