Mrs. Doris “Mickey” Margaret Garland age 85 of Tom Bell Rd. Cleveland formerly of Young Harris passed away peacefully on Thursday November 19, 2020 in the N.E. GA. Medical Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Garland was born on Aug. 14, 1935 in Wenatchee, WA., the daughter of the late Zephia Free and the late Doris Searles Free. Mickey was a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved children, her kitty cats and horses. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Conley and her last husband Daniel A Garland, and two grandchildren, Robert Miller and Jordan Lee Garland English. Mickey was a member of God’s Church in the Hills.


   Surviving Mrs. Garland are two daughters, Lynn Garland of Cleveland, GA., Ann and Hendry Miller od Winder, one son, Danny Garland of Cleveland, one sister, Dolly Brower of Centralia, WA., two nieces, Carolyn Hunnicutt, Phyllis Smith, two grandchildren, Kater and Rebecca Miller, Hendry and Tara Miller, two great grandchildren, Isaac and Isla Miller, many other relatives and friends also survive.


   A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday November 27. 2020 at 7:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. John Lance officiating. Interment will follow later in the Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery where she will rest next to her beloved husband Daniel. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to help defray expenses in Mickey’s memory. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6-7:00 pm.
