Evangelist Doris Pearson Holmes 77, departed this life on April 1, 2025 at HSHS St. John's Hospital. She was born on October 6, 1947 in Haywood, TN, as the daughter of Hattie Mae Williams Pearson.


She married Alex Holmes. Ms. Holmes was retired from Regency Nursing Home as a physical therapist. She worked for over 30 years. She made friends everywhere she went. She enjoyed cooking for family and sharing memories. She was very outspoken.


She was preceded in death by her husband; Alex Holmes, Hattie Mae Williams Pearson, John Walter Pearson and Sammie Pearson.


She leaves to cherish her memories; daughter; Yvette Renee Pearson of Springfield, IL,  sisters; Marquette "Queen Tyus of Halls, TN, Betty Williams of Halls, TN, Carolyn Mann of Dyersburg, TN, Sheila Pearson Shannon  of Halls, TN, Kathleen(Tim) Cason of Gates, TN,  and Denise(Krandy)Burnette of Ripley, TN, brothers;  Thomas(Nancy)Pearson of Ripley, TN, Larry Pearson of Halls, TN, Dennis Pearson of Jackson, TN and Willie(Charlotte)Pearson of Gates, TN, 3 grandchildren; Jakia Pearson Bankston, Terell Demar Pearson and Danielle Pearson, 16 great-grandchildren all of Springfield, IL and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

it saddens Me to learn that Dear Evangelist Doris Holmes, a Sweet Christian Sister in Christ, has passed away. Doris was such a Good Soul; A Loving Family Member; A Great Servant of God in her capacity as an Evangelist, Active Steward, and President of The Community Outreach Street Ministry during her previous years at St. Paul A.M.E. Ms. Doris was a wonderful woman of God and a servant of all God's children. She was a neighbor and friend for many years. I know God has plenty for her to do because she stayed busy doing his work on Earth. Take your rest, beautiful. Job Well Done.
