With heavy hearts and profound respect, we announce the passing of Doris Faye Thomas - Bell on January 18, 2026, at the age of 76. Doris was born on August 22, 1949, in Birmingham, Alabama, and spent her life dedicated to her family and her work.
Doris was a devoted mother to her beloved children who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts. Her legacy of love, resilience, and dedication to her family and community will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Doris's life and legacy. A public viewing will take place on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the James H. Cole Home for Funerals - Northwest Chapel. Funeral services will follow at Mt. Valley Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, January 31st, where we will gather to honor and reflect on the remarkable life of Doris Faye Thomas - Bell.
Following the service, Doris will be laid to rest at Detroit Memorial Park West. Her life was a testament to love, strength, and perseverance, and her memory will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
